Gerard Wanya describes himself as a "full blooded Pueblo Indian" from Acoma Pueblo, NM. He began carving walking sticks as a hobby in 1993 and has now developed his artistic talent into a small business. Gerard visits the forest to pray and obtain the wood for his sticks. He states that, "each stick is a gift from Mother Earth." Each walking stick or cane is unique. The designs come from his heart. Gerard does take custom orders and upon request will incorporate favorite images or designs from the customer into his work.
